HEIDI PELTONIEMI (1978) has studied the cello, the Baroque cello, and viola da gamba at the Helsinki Conservatoire and the Sibelius Academy with Heikki Rautasalo, Hannu Kiiski, and Markku Luolajan-Mikkola. In 2003-2004 she continued her studies at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur with Christophe Coin and Bruno Cocset. She has participated in numerous masterclasses with Anner Bylsma and Jaap ter Linden among others.

Heidi is an active chamber musician, and has appeared with the Volante quartet, Opus X, and the Helsinki Baroque Ensemble in several European countries and the United States.
