Anna-Mari Kähärä is a Finnish composer, pianist and vocalist.
For several years, she has been the primus motor behind the vocal group
How Many Sisters.
Her contributions as a musical director/composer/ arranger in theatre productions
have included a wide variety of musical styles. Aside her solo performances, her current
musical activities include Zetaboo, a 5-piece mix of jazz/ethnic/rock influences, duo performances with
violinist Pekka Kuusisto
and Adiemus Singers with Karl Jenkins' Adiemus Project.
In her solo performances, Anna-Mari Kähärä combines jazz, pop and ethnic influences in a unique way.
In November 2002, she was awarded the Yrjö
prize of the Finnish Jazz Federation as the first female jazz artist. In
December 2002 she received the Suomi Art Price for significant
artistic achievement.
