FISSIO-I'MPOSSIBLE Fissio is a Finnish band formed in 1994. Fissio plays originals composed by keyboard player Timo Pratskin and guitar player Peter Engberg. Fissio has toured in Finland at Jazz- and Rock-festivals and clubs. Fissio's first CD (I'mpossible) was released February 17th 1998 by Impossible Music and is distributed by Texicalli Records (Finland) and Amigo Musik Ab (Sweden).
A big part of the tunes on I'mpossible were recorded 100% live (Forest Tale, Pärämäts, U.H.E., Dance of Passion) and you can feel it. The sound is fresh and Fissio has really catched some great moments. There are tunes with odd meters (Dance Istvan Dance, Fissio Impossible) and you can hear some folk music influences on Pärämäts as well as beautiful ballads like Goin' Home and Pain and Relief. And of course Timo Pratskin's and Peter Engberg's solos are incredible. The overall sound of I'mpossible is really energetic and Fissio welcomes you into a journey to the decade's most massive reaction, Fissio! The musicians in Fissio are all well known and have been performing and recording with many well known Finnish groups. Timo Pratskin (Pekka Pohjola Group, Instinct, H.A.R.P.), Peter Engberg (UMO, Avanti!, Samuli Edelmann). Peter also continues his studies at the Sibelius-Akademy (Finland) and has graduated from Musicians Institute in California (Vocational with Honors/Outstanding Guitarist). Mikko Vuorela is one of the most asked-for bass players in Finland. Sami Kuoppamäki (Kingston Wall, Anssi Tikanmäki) has also been studying in PIT (California) and Manhattan School of Music.
