Per Kristian Svensen

Per Kristian Svensen is born in Stavanger, Norway. Started his musical carrier in the Eiganes School band. Studied to be a music teacher at the Rogaland Musikkonservatorium in Stavanger, moved then to study at the Gothenburg Academy of Music and at the N.C.O.S. orchestra course at Goldsmith College in London. From 1990 – 1995 PK worked as principal trombone in the Helsingborg Symphony in Sweden. Since 1995 has PK been the principal trombone of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. PK is also a member of the Nordic Brass ensemble, The Scandinavian trombone Trio and the Malmö Symphony’s Brass Quintet. |

PK is teaching trombone and chamber music at the Malmö Academy of Music, and is often giving master classes and courses around in Scandinavia, and is one of the administrative leaders of the Blekinge International Brass Academy of Karlskrona, Sweden. As soloist PK has appeared with many different Scandinavian Orchestras and wind and brass bands. Last year PK performed the Tomasi Concerto and the Martin Ballade with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. |
