Born in Helsinki, Finland in 1965. He studied in Sibelius-Academy where he graduated in 1997. He has also studied in London with John Iveson and Arthur Wilson in 1988-91. He was member of Finnish National Opera Orchestra from 1994-1998. Since then he has been co-principal trombone in Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

He is also very active soloist and chamber musician. He is a member of chamber music ensembles including Avanti Chamber Orchestra and Scandinavian Nordic Brass Ensemble. He has performed with many major Finnish orchestras.

He has given the first performance of many contemporary Finnish trombone works. He has performed as a soloist in USA, Russia, Japan, Cuba and many European countries. He is the Host of ITF 2003 festival.
