Kjell-Erik Husom

Kjell Erik Husom was born in 1966 in Kongsvinger, Norway. At the age of 9 he started to play valve-trombone in a school band. Later he was allowed to play trombone and at the age of 16 he chose the bass trombone and started practicing. This took him to the Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo where he studied for four years with Prof. Ingemar Roos. After the studies he freelanced for a period and played with almost every professional Orchestra in Scandinavia. In 1992 he obtained the bass trombone position in Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Kjell Erik Husom is a member of Nordic Brass Ensemble and Bergen Big Band. He has given occasional solo performances and recitals, and also has interest in playing the F-baroque trombone. Besides the work in BFO and other diversified freelancing, he is also conducting bands and teaching trombone. |
