Jonas Bylund

Jonas Bylund was born in Gävle, Sweden in 1963. After studies at the State Academy of Music in Stockholm he played
principal trombone with the Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra, and later with the Royal Stockholm Philarmonic Orchestra and Bamberger Symphoniker. In 1988 Jonas Bylund won 1st prize at the "Concours International d'Execution Musicale" in Geneva, and the following year he also won the ARD-Wettbewerb in Munich. Since then he has performed with many of Europes leading orchestras, i.e. Orchestra de Suisse Romande, Bavarian Radiosymphony Orchestra, Oslo Philarmonic Orchestra. Jonas Bylund is a member of Stockholm Chamber Brass, one of the worlds leading brassquintetts, "American Record Guide" writes: "I cannot imagine that a better brassquintet has ever existed". The Stockholm Chamber Brass won 1st prize at the International Competition for brassquintets in Narbonne, France in 1988. Beside his concert carriere Jonas Bylund has performed as an actor in opera and theater. Since 1995 he is Professor for Trombone at the Academy of Music in Hannover, Germany. |
