Trombonist Niels-Ole Bo Johansen was born 1961 in Viborg, Denmark. Privately tutored, Niels-Ole Bo-Johansen started his musical education in the local Boy Scout band, whose leader at the time, the dynamic and charismatic trumpet player John Leth, became his first teacher. When the desire towards a professional career became apparent, trombonist Rolf Sandmark became his next teacher. He was followed by Ingemar Roos of The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and Benny Sluchin of Ensemble Intercontemporain, Paris. Niels-Ole Bo Johansen’s professional career has been as unorthodox as his education. - 1980 – 84 The Prince’s Life Guard Regiment Music Corps,
